Francesco J. Corda unveils his latest project: the refit of an American Tug boat ST80, created under his company FJM Powerdesign for an italian yacht agency Aethalia. The new project represents a refit of a 20-metre tug, launched in 1943 for the U.S. Navy, which is under a private ownership at the moment and is to be transformed into a luxury yacht.
The general shape of the new project will remain almost the same, incorporating a range of exciting innovations, representative of FJM’s style, resulting in a unique and truly special vessel.
The project is presented in four different versions, which each version being simplified, with cabins located fro the main deck upwards is further introduced in a parallel version with additional cabins in the lower deck.
The most distinct feature of the design if the convertible owner’s cabin, inspired by Francesco J. Corda’s previous project, the Terraced Superyacht. The user of the boat can open the automated canvas roof as well as glazed doors to create a completely open, al fresco stateroom. The other version of the project features a convertible galley and dining area in this location.
ST80 yacht is designed to be powered by a efficient hybrid propulsion with electric pods. The project is at the moment waiting for the owner’s approval for a conversion. The yacht might remain under the owner’s private use, available for yacht charter or even sale.
