The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous will be once again hosted by the beautiful Virgin Gorda yacht charter destination from March 11 to 14, 2015. The regatta will bring three days of exciting sailing, with a full race programme, organised by the highly experienced Yacht Club Costa Smeralda international race committee.
The notice of race is available to download from the event website and with a strong intake of early interest, yacht owners who wish to participate in the event should register without delay to secure their place in the fleet.
This popular event on the international racing calendar attracts some of the finest superyachts in the world. Pre-registered yachts include Royal Huisman’s recently launched 48m classic sloop Wisp, sleek lined 46m performance charter yacht Ganesha, stunning contemporary designed 60m Perini Navi charter yacht Seahawk and Southern Wind’s newly built 31m sailing yacht Farfalla.
The regatta capitalises on the region’s Caribbean trade winds that, set against the island’s spectacular backdrop, make for captivating racing. Whilst sailing remains at the heart of the regatta, the event welcomes spectating motor yachts and is renowned for providing guests with a social programme that distinguishes Loro Piana regattas on the international circuit.
Guests are welcome to enjoy a Welcome Cocktail on the YCCS lawn, the Loro Piana Owners’ Dinner at the YCCS Clubhouse and a luxurious Beach Party hosted by Oil Nut Bay. Nestled on a private peninsula at the eastern tip of the island, the Oil Nut Bay Beach Party will feature live music under the stars.
The Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous welcomes sailing and motor yachts with an LOA over 100ft to compete for the Loro Piana Prize: The Boat International Media Trophy. Yachts under 100ft can register to race for the class trophies.
