A bespoke brand of Palumbo Group, Columbus Yachts, has unveiled a new explorer superyacht concept. The new concept called TOMAHAWK is a revolutionary explorer vessel that can also be defined as a ship, due to technical and seakeeping features.
A long term partner, designer Marco Casali incorporated Palumbo’s expertise in shipbuilding and heritage in the new Tomahawk, describing her as “a yacht inside a ship” At 52 metres in LOA, the superyacht has an internal volume of 499 GT. Her hull and naval architecture were developed by the in-house team in collaboration with by Insenaval. Tomahawk can comfortably cruise in cold and warm waters with a top speed of 15.5 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots, thanks to a pair of 1,528hp MTU 12V 4000 M52R engines.
The Columbus Tomahawk sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 staterooms, including a spacious owner’s suite of 74 square metres. A large terrace will also be dedicated to the owner, including a sunbathing area and Jacuzzi.
The lower deck layout includes the largest beach area ever (200 square metres on 3 levels) and a huge storage space for toys and tenders. Also located on the lower deck, guest accommodation has a direct access to the beach club with a spa, a six-metre swimming pool, which according to the owner’s preference could be possibly transformed into a basketball court. The bimini share support and tender launches will be conducted with the central crane. Entertainment on board features a dining room with a bar and a cinema/karaoke room. The upper deck includes an MCA-compliant helipad.
