At the 2011 Monaco Yacht Show ‘RF YACHTS’ designer Roland Friedberger presented his first motor yacht design under his own label – the motor yacht PROXIMA. Available in two versions, superyacht Proxima was created by the designer in a 50m as well as in a 57m interpretation. Previous works of Roland Friedberger include the 90m motor yacht Conqueror for Messerschmitt Yachts, which was presented by Nobiskrug at the 2010 MYS and the ‘Bulwark’ yacht series for MTT (Messerschmitt Yachts) in 2009.
Designer Roland Friedberger about Proxima superyacht:
„To make a step into the future means to think about the human´s urge to explore the galaxy. This expression of form has now been transcribed into the modern expression of surface. Proxima shows clear lines and soft elegant transitions. The accents are masculine and sporty.“
The 50m version of the Proxima superyacht:
Long arch form, straight front, big panorama windows and the curved axe bow – tension and elegance are developing their own character.
The Proxima superyacht design combines soft lines and elements in order to get a timeless modern and striking yacht design. The distinctive panorama windows (can be darkened electrically) provide an incredibly generous sense of space, a connection of the living space and the ambience of the ocean.
The concept – Proxima Yacht:
In every area exists an aspiration to think about, why things are how they are and if one could not design this differently. The general arrangement of the motor yacht Proxima placed the owner´s area in the front area and made it very generously, with outsized panorama windows. The crew area and the gallery as well as the pilot house are equipped with their own staircases and are designed in a way, that it makes the service easier. It also ensures that the owner and the guests alike have their individual privacy needs met.
The high hull not only offers security but can also be used as a big storage space at the lowest level, when on long journeys. The streamlined form of the hull not only increases the speed, but also improves the efficiency of the consumption at cruising speed. Even in the interior construction the design will be based on saving as much weight as possible.
Fly bridge deck:
Approximately 90 sqm generosity for a pool, lounge, bar, large space for a sun pad and (optional) a pilot chair.
The main lounge with adjustable table (100 x 200 cm) and the wide seating furniture (340cm substructure / 220cm seat width) with a seat depth of 65cm is a dining and lounge area in one. The pool, which fits up to 7 people, opens itself in the color play of the lights directly to the middle of the fly deck. The bar with service and food lift provides between the chrome pillars space for a 2m wide screen. Big transparent LED areas are individually adjustable in colors and reflect extensively different lighting moods. Programs to set the lighting make it easy to coordinate and on request save your own favorite lighting.
Main deck:
Lounge entrance in avant-garde style. Illuminated wings are the characteristic of the design on the main deck. Protectively but yet open it holds the big couches, which are arranged in order to have the view towards the ocean. The extensive lighting creates here a special ambience, too. Mirrored stairs provide access on both sides to the upper deck.
