The 10th edition of Seatec – International Exhibition Technologies, Subcontracting and Design for Boats, Megayachts and Ships and the 4th edition of Compotec – International Exhibition Composites & Related Technologies will offer a rich calendar of conferences and meetings with both technical and design related contents.
Seatec, within the Abitare il Mare initiative (by Decio G.R. Carugati, promoted by CarraraFiere) presents Project into the Project and Design and Space by eminent names of the academic and the design spheres. Presentations of the winning projects of Millennium Yacht Design Award & Targa Rodolfo Bonetto will follow.
Compotec presents Design and Composites: state of the art a meeting with renowned professionals of the sector who will discuss about the use of composites and how they can represent a low impact choice for the environment, in line with the green leitmotiv of next edition.
The meetings organized by the associations Asso.N.A.T. and Assonautica, as well as the ones presented by the Exhibitors themselves, will also be a significant opportunity for the public to get a deeper look into the sector. CNA Nautica (National Association Pleasure Crafts Companies) will organize a meeting on yachting professional degrees in cooperation with the LMCT association (Maritime Workers of the Tyrrhenian Coast).
The yearly appointment with the Istituto Italiano della Saldatura – Italian Institute for Welding is also confirmed with the conference Welding: Instruction for the use. Procedures, Personnel, Rules.
A new event focussed on Refitting is also scheduled: Yacht Refitting, Restoring and Restyling: different aspects of a growing sector, held by Professor Massimo Musio-Sale from the Genoa University.
The sailing area will host the conference by Navimeteo on Navigation and Metereology and the first conference within the Mille e Una Vela Cup, the initiative by Massimo Paperini and Paolo Procesi started on 2005 for the organization of regattas raced by students designed yachts. Besides discussing about experimental didactics and yacht design, themes such as eco friendly construction methods will be approached, in line with the exigencies of future scenarios.
In the engine area, like every year, Unimot (Italian Association for Marine Engines) will organize events, meetings and workshops focussing on propulsion and engine issues during the three days of the Show.
The brand new Yacht & Cruise Security Forum by Ethos Media Group, organized in an open space in pavilion B, will offer a full in-depth view of all the issues related to safety and security (technologies and relevant rules) through presentations and application cases which will constitute a sort of permanent formative session to open up the dialogue among technicians, designers and shipyards buyers.
The schedule of events organized within Compotec is also very interesting and the initiatives will mostly approach “Green Policy” themes. The conference Green as composites – Technologically advanced materials for environmental sustainability will be divided into three sessions and will be the ground to discuss with companies, technicians, researchers and professors about composites and sustainability.
Assomotoracing as well will organize a conference about composites, called Advanced composites design in aerospace and defence.
One entire day will be dedicated to the technical-scientific workshop Development and design methods of composites made products, coordinated by Professor Marino Quaresimin and Eng. Alberto Cimadoro with an afternoon session dedicated to applications and technical aspects. Furthermore, a demonstration area will be equipped with virtual demo points showing mechanical tests, chemical-physical analysis systems, NDT analysis systems, and numerical moulding codes calculators. Within this area, Exhibitors will have the opportunity to point out the features of their most innovative productions.
Seatec-Compotec 2012, with a great variety of side-events and conferences and thanks to the presence of high-profiles companies in terms of research and innovation, confirms once more its importance in the international scenario of trade events for the yachting and composites industry.
