Dutch shipyard Royal Huisman has begun construction on luxury yacht PROJECT 410, set to become the world’s largest sloop at 85m/278.10ft.
The experienced Owner desired a cutting-edge vessel that would be iconic; standing out in leading the future direction for superyacht design, while ensuring that all modern safety features and comforts were plentiful onboard.
Frers Design and Wetzels Brown collaborated on the winning concept, which was selected by the Owner for its exceptional use of naval architecture, space utilisation and an exterior design by Mani Frers, while the interiors from Gill Brown are like entering a whole different world. Following a year of development, the plans are now starting to come to life.
Once completed, S/Y PROJECT 410 will be capable of sailing even in light winds, making use of the ability to build and increase speed. Her eco-friendly credentials are substantial, aiming for structural recyclability as well as the integration of green energy technology. Her ability to generate energy while sailing – stored in a 2-megawatt battery bank – qualifies her for the Lloyd’s Hybrid Power certificate, and quiet operation and silent mode sailing add to the comfort of guests and crew on board.
S/Y PROJECT 410 was exclusively unveiled at the beginning of the St. Barth’s Bucket Regatta 2022, where she received plenty of positive attention that bodes well for her future and the future of sustainable yachting.
