Royal Huisman will debut its latest 55m/181ft concept, superyacht SANGI at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019.
M/Y SANGI, which means ‘change’ in Esperanto, is a semi-custom all-aluminium vessel designed by Cor D. Rover with naval architecture from Van Oossanen Naval Architects capable of accommodating up to 12 guests and 12 crew, and is offered to the market as a contemporary alternative to traditional luxury yachting experiences.
One of the most exciting features on board is the patented ‘Depp pool’ from Cor D. Rover: When not in use, the floor of the swimming pool rises up to become flush with the foredeck so that the space can be used for sunbathing or hosting dockside events. Even in rougher sea conditions, seals will prevent the water from escaping from beneath the raised floor.
In addition to this main deck sunbathing area, there is a sunbed spread across the upper deck aft and a retractable roof in the overhang above the alfresco lounge for a choice of shade or sunshine. The foredeck has an additional lounge comprised of a C-shaped sofa and coffee table forward of the helm station, while farther down the elongated bow there are two sofa/sunbeds and storage for tenders and water toys which are launched and retrieved using a Davit crane.
Inside there is room for a cinema, and Owners can personalise the layout to meet their requirements, even going as far as restyling the superstructure.
The technical specifications prove that this sub-500 GT luxury yacht is designed for the family-friendly cruising through environments the world over: Hybrid and full-electric propulsion is offered to meet future environmental standards for reduced emissions, and smart energy management optimise the power generation, storage and usage. The smart engineering creates even more space on board for the Owner to dedicate to the cabins or an additional guest area.
The aluminium hull is based on the Fast-Displacement XL® form by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and offers excellent stability and efficiency while cruising.
Her beam of 9.7m/32ft ensures that there is plenty of space on board during extended cruising, and the draft of 2.2m/7ft will navigate through shallow waterways to the best spots in the region. A pair of 533 kW engines produce a top speed of 16 knots and a range of 3,800 nautical miles at 12 knots.
Royal Huisman is also currently building three other superyachts: An 81m/266ft luxury schooner which will become the world’s largest aluminium sailing yacht upon launch, a sailing yacht of 60m/196ft and a 55m/180ft motor yacht.
