RS Global (part of the Rolling Stock Group), with additional backing from investors including Palma Refit, are currently collaborating on the significant renovation project of the site formerly known as the “Grupo Guidet Building,” located within the STP shipyard. RS Global have been awarded the 12 year concession to manage the building, which will offer approximately 3,000 square meters of rentable workshop and office space on two floors, including a bar/restaurant.
The new RS Global building will greatly improve the facilities already within the shipyard, allowing marine trades the opportunity to be strategically placed within the STP shipyard in Palma, Spain. The building will benefit from an improved distribution of workshops and offices and a larger and more modern bar/restaurant better to service the super yacht refit industry.
The renovation of the RS Global building will include a new roof, better insulation, public bathroom facilities, WIFI access; and, it will also provide handicap access to all public bathroom facilities and general areas, including a lift to the first floor. Steps are being taken to make the building more environmentally friendly by improving the energy consumption.
Plans for the ground floor include a complete renovation and remodeling of the interior. Nine workshops, available for rent, will be constructed, ranging in size from 109 square meters to 184 square meters, and each will have its own private bathroom facilities.
On the first floor, and a new addition to the building, twenty-four offices will be available for rent; each ranging in size from 44 square meters to 77 square meters and every office will have its own private bathroom facilities. A communal serviced reception area and public bathroom are also planned for this floor.
Applications are currently being accepted and the units are open to any business or individual who would like to reserve a place in this prestigious location. The offices and workshops within the RS Global building will be renting for 29€ per square meter. The project is anticipated to be finished by mid summer 2011.
“We are overwhelmed by the response we have been receiving and already had reservations for over 65% of the building even before demolition works started! I would encourage anyone interested in this opportunity to reserve their places in advance, as there is no better location in Palma de Mallorca for a refit company to be located.” Rupert Savage, Managing Director
