This month will see RSB Rigging Solutions Project Manager, Mark Timmins, once again head up to Finland to the Baltic facility to re-step the masts aboard sailing yacht Nariida. Superyacht Nariida is an outstanding 105-foot ketch, built by Wally Yachts.
The Luca Brenta designed Nariida yacht was the first large fast cruiser/racing boat built by Wally Yachts and revolutionised the sailing world with her onboard systems, carbon construction and capability of sailing at high speeds that until then had been almost unthinkable.
The rigs of luxury yacht Nariida have been in the shed undergoing a major refit while the boat also spent the winter months inside for a full interior and systems upgrade.
RSB Rigging Solutions Director, Steve Branaagh, was the captain of the Nariida superyacht for almost 5 years so the project is close to his heart. Steve states: ‘It has been a fantastic project to be involved in; working along side both the crew and the Baltic yard has been great as the logistics and communication between Palma and Finland have worked smoothly which has been key to the success of the project. The Baltic facility is a fantastic yard that is second to none, their work over this winter period means this iconic yacht will continue to be seen throughout the Mediterranean and Northern Europe. As the ex skipper of Nariida I had great pleasure in both cruising in the Mediterranean and around the Norwegian and Baltic coastlines and taking part in numerous regattas in various parts of Europe. It is without a doubt my favourite yacht and certainly the only fully equipped cruising yacht that I’ve done 27 knots in! It is a real pleasure to still be involved and we are looking forward to seeing her complete sea trials and head back into the Mediterranean in July.’
Nariida yacht will undergo sea trials during May and will be setting off for the start of her season in Oslo in June.
