Preparation for the construction of the beautiful new Jongert 3400M superyacht are well under way at the prestigious Jongert Shipyard in the Netherlands. Sailing Yacht 3400M by Jongert represents one of the three yachts in the new Jongert Line for the future, including the recently introduced Jongert 3000M and the 4000M version, which is currently under development. All three vessels are designed by Frers Naval Architects and share contemporary lines plan and a low superstructure line. Other striking design features include the vertical bow, wide transom and some cute pilothouse windows.
The new Jongert 3400 yacht has been designed for an owner who intends to take his prized new possession around the world. The client already owns a Jongert yacht onboard which he has sailed extensively. He now has specific plans to take the sailing yacht 3400M to challenging areas such as the North and South Pole, so the yacht will have additional insulation in the hull for extremely cold water temperatures and a reinforced bow section to protect her against any possible collisions.
Both the hull and the superstructure are made from high-grade Alustar and with a carbon mast and boom, the Jongert superyacht 3400M is a lightweight boat with a powerful sailing performance and high speed potential. At the same time, no compromises have been made with the legendary Jongert standards of comfort, reliability and quality. The yacht features a lovely clean deck with flush hatches, lines led under the deck, the use of captive winches and recessed furlers. Her performance will be further enhanced by the asymmetrical code 0 and code 1 rig and a lifting keel arrangement that ensures access into close shore anchorages.
Moreover, the owners will enjoy even more time under sail as the high performance sailing nature of the Yacht that allows to sail efficiently from 4 knots of TWS, bringing forward the moment when the engine can be switched off and the sound of sailing silence embraced. As a back-up a powerful range of 3000 miles, the 3400M will certainly be able to undertake some major explorative trips under her ‘own steam’.
The interior layout compromises a full beam owners’ stateroom with private access from the aft cockpit, two guest suites and a third convertible cabin that could equally well serve as a study or cinema room. There are also two dedicated crew cabins and captain’s cabin. The critical space between the guest and crew areas has been specifically factored into the design in order to ensure privacy for all onboard. There is a large galley with dinette which also includes a significant amount of freezer space. A voluminous engine room has full standing height and more than enough space for spares.
The spacious deck salon offers 360-degree views and a seamless connection to the outdoor guest spaces. In fact, the al fresco life is very well catered for onboard the Jongert sailing yacht 3400M. There is a large outside cockpit with a foldable sun awning that can also stay in place when sailing to offer some shade, leaving sun worshippers to head for the pleasures of the open aft deck area. And, when sufficiently roasted, the sunbathers will find that the aft swimming platform makes for the perfect launch pad to plunge into the water. A third relax area on the forward deck, can be use while the yacht is at anchor.
The 3400M also has ample storage for diving gear, two tenders or a small sailboat such as a laser.
