GMT Composites has recently taken a new step forward in their SeaStair Design, with the development of a single solid side rail for the new 116-foot sailing yacht Baltic 116 Custom by Baltic Yachts. The captain of superyacht Baltic 116 Custom wished a boarding system that would meet both his technical requirements and matched the exotic looks of the design.
Project manager, Nigel Ingram of Marine Construction Management in Newport RI, suggested the captain of luxury yacht Baltic 116 Custom speak to GMT Composites. GMT and MCM had recently completed a successful project for Royal Huisman, and Nigel knew GMT could meet the most demanding custom needs.
This project was to be different though, as the captain of the Baltic 116 Custom yacht wanted a single solid side rail – a new design for GMT. GMT developed an elegant design where the entire adjustment mechanism is hidden within the side rail itself.
