Last week in the popular Caribbean yacht charter location – Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands saw the four-day Loro Piana Caribbean Superyacht Regatta and Rendezvous 2014. The Superyacht Owners’ Guide has sponsored sailing yacht Ohana, who participated in the regatta, and can proudly announce that she has taken third place.
One of the most exhilarating activities you can do with your yacht is enter a regatta. The teamwork, physical challenge, and dedication to win makes for an unbeatable atmosphere both on board and for the spectators who are lucky enough to be able to watch the race.
The Superyacht Owners’ Guide team will continue to follow the 50m luxury yacht Ohana and report back on her performance in the St. Baths Bucket Regatta which took place over the weekend.
The Bucket Regatta website states that this event has been focused on great sailing competition, seamanship, sportsmanship, a large dose of creative left-field fun and most of all, hospitality and sharing the joy of this magnificent sport among the fleet.
Giovanni Copello, owner of Yacht Club Portofino and lead sponsor of luxury yacht Ohana reported to the Superyacht Owners’ Guide, “The race in which Ohana was placed third was one of the most exciting races I have ever watched. I know I have invested interest but I would encourage anyone who is interested in sailing to come and be part of a regatta at once in his or her lifetime. The atmosphere at the show is amazing and the people attending are so passionate about sailing, it has been a pleasure just to be here.”
