Perini Navi Group is pleased to announce that yacht Riela has won the “Interior Design Award – Sailing Yachts”, at The Showboats Design Awards in Palm Beach, Florida.
Luxury sailing yacht Riela, designed by Perini Navi’s in-house naval architects together with experienced New Zealander Ron Holland, is the 46th unit in the Perini Navi fleet and the 7th in the 56 metre series. She boasts an ultra-light streamlined aluminium hull with maximum displacement optimized at 545 tons in order to guarantee both excellent sailing performances and extreme comfort. Both main and mizzen masts are also in aluminium, while the furling boom is in carbon fibre. Total sail area is expected to reach 1,500 m².
The interiors, designed by Remi Tessier, are based on luxury and elegance combined with contemporary style, which is reflected in the use of a wide and rich variety of precious and refined materials: leather and woods such as macassar, ebony, wengè, teak.
The Awards ceremony honours the Superyacht industry’s most creative talents including architects, designers, stylists, craftsmen, and innovators in yacht technologies.
All qualifying superyachts were delivered during 2009 and have a length overall in excess of 30 metres. On Suturday 22th 2010, sailing yacht Riela won “Best Sailing Yacht in 45m + size range” at the Boat International’s World Superyacht Awards 2010, which was held at London’s historic Guildhall.
According to the panel of judges, yacht Riela highlighted the winning combination of elegant lines and the distribution of volumes associated with the high level of comfort and livability, excellence in build quality and execution of the interior furnishings created by French designer Remi Tessier.
