Southern Wind has announced the delivery of the first hull in its SW105 series: 32.27m/105ft sailing yacht SATISFACTION. Featuring the naval architecture of Farr Yacht Design, the first SW105 has a svelte appearance and is a capable regatta racing yacht, meeting all of her owner’s expectations and requirements. The interior and exterior styling come courtesy of Nauta Design for a flowing appearance from one guest area to the next.
“SATISFACTION is a perfectly balanced and powerful sailing yacht that performs very well in light air,” commented Southern Wind General Manager Marco Aberti. “Thanks to her twin rudder configuration, she is very light on the helm in any condition. The wide deck with the cockpits on the same level gives a real superyacht feeling.”
Built in compliance with RINA classification standards, S/Y SATISFACTION has a carbon fibre hull and superstructure. A beam of 7.3m/24ft allows for plenty of space in her tender garage for a 4.2m/14ft tender and a jet ski. Among her other features is a dumbwaiter that connects the galley to the cockpit for quick and efficient service, and her telescopic keel allows for cruising in shallow anchorages, reducing from 5.6m/18ft to 3.65m/12ft. The accommodation sleeps six guests across three staterooms: 1 Master suite, 1 double cabin and 1 twin cabin, while the crew accommodation provides for six.
“We succeeded in designing a single level deck while keeping the freeboard low and without compromising the height of the interiors for the comfort of guests and crew, and still leaving room for all the structures and running systems as we had planned from the start,” Massimo Gino of Nauta Design commented.
Sailing yacht SATISFACTION will now cross the Atlantic on her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean. Two other SW105 are currently in production at the shipyard and are expected to launch in June and December of 2018 respectively.
