After three months from the latest sale of a Darwin Class 107’ yacht, Cantiere delle Marche (CdM) is proud to announce the sale of another Explorer Vessel of the Darwin Class line – motor yacht Darwin Class 96-02. The sale confirms the success of the shipyard, which is selling its yachts at an average of one every three months from the start of its sales activities.
This new contract has been signed for the construction of the motor yacht Darwin Class 96’ (29,50 mt.) designed by Sergio Cutolo, which it is going to be delivered in 2015 to a very knowledgeable and expert South American Client. This result comes after the sales activities carried out during the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show 2013: with this contract, CdM has now 6 yachts in its pipeline to be delivered in 2014 and 2015.
Even if the new Darwin Class 96’ superyacht can be considered a sistership of the reknown M/Y Stella di Mare, which has been also nominated at the 2014 Motor Boat of the Year award, it will show all the new features of what the shipyard calls the Darwin 2.0 style: the bigger windows both on the main and the upper deck salons, recesses in the bulwarks to enjoy the view from the interiors of the Yacht, bigger and differently shaped windows for the cabins, the galley and the crew mess, and a sleeker bow.
Technically speaking, the main difference from the sistership is the choice of Caterpillar engines instead of the MTU engines chosen by the owner of Stella di Mare yacht: they will be Cat C18 Acert – 500 Kw (680 HP) @ 1800 RPM – Heavy Duty Rated – and will push the vessel at 13 knots with 4.500 nautical miles of range at 10 knots.
All those technical details which have characterized and created the success of the CdM production are obviously mantained: 12 mm A grade carbon steel for the hull, cupro nickel piping, independent rudders, automatic parallel between generators, standard electric stabilization system, bilge oil separator, and all those redudancies and overengineering which have set immediately CdM in the highest spot of its segment.
Not much can be disclosed for the moment about the interior and exterior arrangements and style which are going to be designed with the Client’s personal interior designer. For the time being just a few information are available: the owner and the project managers are working on the lazzarette, that will be equipped with a real diving station with also a nitrox compressor and the transom will show an Opacmare Transformer platform. The interior lay out will have 5 cabins (one master, two VIP and two guests) with the possibility to accomodate 6 crew on the main deck and the public areas will be designed in order to cater an important number of family members and guest in an informal but very functional and luxurious way.
Vasco Buonpensiere – Sales and Marketing Director of CdM – expresses his satisfaction about this new contract and says: ‘It is incredible how, once again, the decision and sale process has been fast, smooth and enjoyable on both sides’. And explains: ‘In only twelve weeks from the first meeting with the Client in Fort Lauderdale we have completed this deal, customizing the technical specifications matching the Client’s needs, negotiating the contract giving to the Client all the comfort and securities needed, and drawing a preliminary General Arrangement following a very precise initial brief’. ‘This has been possible also because of the experience and the yachting knowledge of the Client, who – by the way – already has and has had vessels built in the best northern european shipyards’.
Ennio Cecchini – Ceo of CdM – adds: ‘I would like to personally thank our Client who is giving us the privilege to build for him and his family one of our vessels’. ‘Knowing his history as a Yacht Owner, this sale is another confirmation of the fact that CdM has very quickly become a key reference point for whoever is looking for high quality, reliable and superbly finished explorer yacht to cruise safely and in luxurious comfort the oceans’. ‘A special thank goes to Alex G. Clarke of Denison Yacht Sales who has introduced the Client to the shipyard and has professionally backed up my team during the whole process’.
CdM will deliver this year a Darwin 86’ yacht with many special features not disclosable yet, designed and engineered by Hydro Tec/Sergio Cutolo as all the Darwin Class line and the first two Yachts of the Nauta Air range designed by Mario Pedol and Massimo Gino of Nauta Yacht Design: a Nauta Air 86’ yacht and a Nauta Air 90’ superyacht.
