Sanlorenzo has used the occasion of Boot Düsseldorf to announce its new series of hybrid and diesel-electric superyachts named the E Motion range.
Using a zero emissions mode, guests can enjoy a comfortable night’s rest without vibrations, or cruise through environmentally sensitive regions that other superyachts would not otherwise have access to. Other features include a two identical systems for total redundancy back-up, providing greater safety at sea, variable fuel consumption for better fuel efficiency and reduced noise.
One of the main benefits to owners and guests is the greater space available for amenities, and the 500 EXP hull (expected for launch in 2020) uses the additional room for a large beach club with fold-down bulwarks, lit from above by a glass-bottomed swimming pool. Guests can access the beach club from the forward accommodation through the engine room, which has a gallery-like glass corridor running through the centre.
By 2021, the range will include the 58 Steel, 50 Alloy and 56EXP to provide superyacht owners with an even greater choice of environmentally friendly options. The first hull to be launched will be the 27m/89ft motor yacht SL86 expected in May, followed by the second unit in December.
