Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the well known Italian superyacht shipyard, Sanlorenzo, has proudly announced their strategic partnership with the prestigious US designer Chris Bangle and his consultancy, Chris Bangle Associates srl (CBA). This super yacht design collaboration will see Chris Bangle and the CBA team develop the designs of the next generation Sanlorenzo yacht exteriors, working together with the yard’s in-house team of engineers and architects.
This will be the first time Chris Bangle enters the world of super yachts. He is well known for his role as creative director at BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce. Chris left BMW in 2009 to establish Chris Bangle Associates. Since then, his clients have ranged far beyond cars, from French Cognac makers to Korean global technology giants. Chris’ creative vision, design leadership, as well as track record of successful innovation suit perfectly the strategic goals of Sanlorenzo and the passionate expertise of their engineers, architects, as well as craftsmen.
“During 2015 Élite Days here in Rapallo – says Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo Spa Chairman/CEO – we are not only celebrating my first 10 year in Sanlorenzo, but we are also, together with Chris, opening a new development phase for Sanlorenzo. Chris is not only an amazing designer, world famous, but also a talented manager, able to run complex and multicultural teams. Starting today, he will not only develop with us outstanding new Sanlorenzo yachts, but also will bring his experience in shaping our future managerial culture.”
“I have great respect for the strength of the Sanlorenzo brand and the quality and emotion crafted into every ship they create; their discerning clientele are highly tuned to all these aspects,” Chris says “I am very excited to be joining together with the Sanlorenzo team, and even more inspired to learn about the world of super yachts and the design challenges within it. Massimo has great knowledge of yachting from the customer point of view and is dedicated to bringing the Sanlorenzo experience to an even higher level with innovation and design. I believe strongly in the Sanlorenzo that Massimo has built in this past decade and congratulate him on this accomplishment; his vision for the next ten years is even more compelling. I am proud he has chosen the CBA team and myself to join with him on this adventure and look forward to designing an exciting new generation of Sanlorenzo yachts!”
