The 27m/89ft SX88 from Sanlorenzo and Volvo Penta has been unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival. Completed over the weekend and presented to the media before her public debut, the SX88 combines the best features and performance of an explorer yacht and a flybridge yacht.
“A shipyard must have courage to make a product like this,” said Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo CEO Massimo Perotti. “We wanted to invent a product for people who love boating, who love to be close to the sea — it is a little revolution.”
Officina Italiana Design completed the exterior design which features unique elements, including a reverse angled windshield and an open transom for loading a 4.5m tender and jet ski onto the 30m bathing platform using a davit crane.
The skylounge has extensive 4 metre windows that can be lowered completely, while the windshield shelters the helm position up front. A unique feature of the SX88, there is no wheelhouse and guests can move from the cockpit to the salon. The XS88 is capable of a top speed of 23 knots powered by a Volvo Penta D13-IPS1050 poddrive propulsion system and nine hulls have already been sold ahead of the Cannes Yachting Festival.
Sanlorenzo will be present throughout the Cannes Yachting Festival from the 12th to the 17th and visitors can view the SX88 throughout the event.
