November 12, 2015 saw the striking WIDER 150 luxury yacht GENESI by WIDER Yachts undergo the first sea trial, with good weather conditions and calm sea state. A series of further sea trials are scheduled for the upcoming days and weeks to test the various systems under extreme conditions and to fine tune the brand new superyacht GENESI, in order to obtain the maximum level of excellence.
During the first sea trial of GENESI yacht, the WIDER technical team were joined on board by specialists from Veth, who were on hand to analyse the performance of the azimuthal pods that provide thrust, along with technicians from Emerson Industrial Automation who were eager to see the power management system working under the actual conditions it was designed for.
Initial tests concentrated on maneuverability, which was described by the captain as “spectacular”, a significant safety feature but also an advantage when considering entering small creeks and bays. Early results showed that motor yacht GENESI easily reaches her forecast top speed of 15 knots in diesel electric mode and fuel consummation levels are in line with the pre-launch forecasts and estimated to be at least 15% less than a similar vessel with traditional propulsion.
With the interior of the GENESI yacht already close to completion on the launch day, workers and craftsmen are currently working on the completion of the yacht’s décor, so that she can be presented in showroom condition to potential buyers.
