Sealine International, the leading luxury British yacht builder, communicated today its planning stage to change the company’s operating structure at its headquarters in Kidderminster, UK.
Commenting on the plans James Bursey, CEO for Sealine said “Following a detailed review of the current operating structure we are proposing to streamline the business and as a result we are looking at reducing the number of management, clerical and support staff working at the company’s headquarters in Kidderminster. Whilst regrettable, we believe that these changes are essential to enable us to secure the long term future of the business and to return Sealine to a profitable company.
The proposed changes, which will mean a reduction of around 16% of the workforce, will apply purely to salaried staff and will not affect the hourly paid workers at the factory. There will be a period of consultation before any changes are implemented. We will seek to minimise the number of compulsory redundancies by looking at all alternatives and for all of those employees affected we will be providing a full consultation and counselling programme.”
