Seatec is the 9th International Exhibition of technology, subcontracting and design for boats, mega yachts and ships organised by CarraraFiere and is the most important trade fair in the industry in Europe. Seatec is part of the IFBSO (International Federation of Boat Show Organizers). Compotec is the 3rd International Fair for composite materials and related technologies, also organized by CarraraFiere is the first and only international event in Italy strictly focusing on the use of the most technologically advanced construction materials.
With the two events staged together Exhibitors will have the chance to show their best products to a wide audience of professionals working – in addition to the ship and boat industry – in many other industries ranging from aeronautics, the car industry, the building industry to energy, medicine, sport, design and even artistic experimentation.
Seatec represents the natural setting in the Mediterranean for the development of the international nautical business while Compotec, Hall E, stands as “the” event for all professionals working in some area of the composites industry offering real opportunities for acquiring information and keeping up-to-date with what’s new as well as exchanging ideas on these materials that are becoming increasingly available and used in a wide range of industries.
Both events centre on the Exhibitors, working alongside them to create new forms of cooperation and relations among the various players: Industry, Crafts, Academia, Designers, Architects, Engineers and Shipbuilders.
Abitare il Mare, a container for events, competitions and conferences related to design and the conference held specially for Compotec on the theme of: The state of the art. Evolution and promotion of composite materials. Meeting with leading authorities on design in various applications – Bikes, Cars, Trains, Aircrafts, Yachts and Furniture, by Decio G. R. Carugati, bring new ideas and opportunities for further examination.
Presentations, workshops, meetings and conferences will be held over the three days. There will be further discussion of themes at the A Book too with three days of presentations of books on the nautical industry and design.
A significant feature is the great number of exhibiting companies, associations, bodies, research centres and training institutions taking part in the side events with numerous meetings focussing on the various aspects of the issues dealt with by the two Events, for which planning is now underway.
Much interest shown in the nautical design competitions as well as those for the most innovative products presented by the Exhibitors – Qualitec Design and Qualitec Technology Awards – opportunities for promotion of the latest products on the market and the Exhibitors and designers taking part.
As regards the exhibition, the Seatec themes are arranged in different areas: Materials & Applications – new products from the 2010 event – Technology, Accessories & Services, Marine and Propulsion Engines, Projects, Design, Engineering & Furnishings with Abitare il Mare in Hall D, Electronics & Domotics, Port equipment, Sailing equipment, Design & Engineering and the Media. While at Compotec there are: raw materials for composites, machinery and processes, design & engineering, services, the media and R & D.
Efficient and productive once again in 2011 are the projects in collaboration with the Italian and foreign Chambers of Commerce and Associations.
Places confirmed at Seatec are in-keeping with previous years, and the same applies to Compotec, whose new format is very much appreciated. Good prospects too in terms of visitors that, given the initial signs of recovery of the nautical industry and industry in general, are expected in large numbers from Italy and abroad.
The special care taken in the architectural design makes it a very elegant complex that blends into the unique natural surroundings between the Apuan Alps and the sea.
Seatec & Compotec will be held from 16th to 18th February 2011
