Oculus Technologies are delighted to present plans for more in-depth integration between their YachtEye infotainment product and the onboard Seetrac Tender Tracking Systems. Plans for YachtEye to incorporate futher status feedback from the Seetrac Base Unit (SBU) allows Oculus to develop the informative side of YachtEye’s functionality. Integration is expected to comprise the display of alarms, panic as well as manoverboard feedback on the YachtEye map.
Displaying TenderTracker information from Seetrac devices is a well established feature of Oculus’ product. With the current TenderTracker module, YachtEye provides a 3D visual representation of tenders. It also displays tracking information including position, speed and depth of water at the tender’s location. Further integration between the two onboard systems will now enable the YachtEye “camera” to follow the location of tenders in the event of a raised alarm signal. YachtEye will track and follow the tender or jet-ski transmitting a panic signal or track the location from when a man overboard alarm has been raised.
Plans are also in place for YachtEye to incorporate data from Seetrac’s “Globe-trak. Currently, with the Oculus “FleetView” module, Owners can see their fleet or multiple vessels within YachtEye. By integrating data from Globe-trak, which tracks multiple targets via satellite transponders, more detailed tracking of an entire fleet will be available.
“We are delighted to be working more closely with Seetrac. We now have the opportunity to really enhance all of the features that can become available by fully integrating our YachtEye product with the Seetrac Base Unit onboard. YachtEye is an infotainment product and whilst entertainment is the primary function, providing onboard information has always played a key role in many of the options available. By working with Seetrac we are now able to extend this to include essential and critical information feedback.” comments Kim Jansen, co-owner of Oculus Technologies B.V.
