design et al are pleased to announce further shortlist success for Su Marine Yachts in the International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2015, with sailing yacht In Love. Delivered in July 2014, superyacht In Love will compete in the ‘Sailing Yacht Interior Design’ category. The beautiful 35,6-metre vessel boasts interior design by Jean Guy Vergès, with exterior design as well as naval architecture by Taka Yachts / Tanju Kalaycioglu.
The brief for the Interior Design of super yacht In Love was for the design to be very flowing and simple with no sharp corners. Despite the large volumes and opens areas, guests can still can have privacy and their own suites, with living spaces quite large for a sailing yacht of this size. Similarly, there are various places on the external deck where guests can relax and choose to enjoy time together or in a quiet space alone. It was requested for the interiors to be designed in a very contemporary style. This is in direct contrast with the external design of the boat which is reminiscent of a classic sailing yacht in the 1930s. The result of this contrast is an elegant mix between the two styles that creates a beautiful yet not overdone sailing yacht matching her owners taste and lifestyle.
A scheme of light shades was decided upon, with cream and beige contrasting with darker wood and white lacquers shades. The use of natural materials creates a very relaxing feeling and a cozy interior throughout the boat. Sober lines and the furniture throughout the boat create a continuity and the interesting mix of wood and leathers with Turnstyle hardware accents brings a very classy feel. The result is an interior of an elegant simplicity. A motif inspired by Asian “Bas Relief” and styled to fit the overall surrounding design like wardrobe doors and enhanced with mirror trimming brings a Zen feeling to the interior. Ceilings are finished in panels made of Spinneybeck leather, stitching edges in the way of French Famous leather craft brands as well as the staircases made of the same finishing on its leather panelled walls and elegantly shaped hand railings in wood and polished stainless steel stanchions.
High quality fabric brands such as NOBILIS, JIM THOMPSON, PIERRE FREY and SACHO appointed with soft furniture and decorative lamps from CONTARDI with their contemporary design and polished stainless steel accents, create a very modern but welcoming and comfortable ambiance throughout the In Love yacht. A centralised entertainment system provides a wealth of information and library of music and movies guest can request.
Both the exterior and interior design of In Love superyacht, together with the knowledge and expertise of Su Marine have created and delivered a beautiful sailing yacht of the highest standard. The result has been accomplished through the use of delicate details that create an elegant exterior and interior design inspired by her owners.
