Boat International Media is pleased to report that the 2013 edition of the ShowBoats Design Awards will be held on Friday, June 21 during The Rendezvous in Monaco.

Guests of The Rendezvous and the industry’s leading creative talents will celebrate together the excellence in yacht design at a glittering awards ceremony to be held at the Monaco Opera House. Now in its fourth year, the coveted golden Neptune awards have quickly become a symbol of pride and distinction for the industry’s design professionals.
The ShowBoats Design Awards focuses specifically on fundamental aspects of superyacht design such as naval architecture, exterior and interior design as well as interior layout, and brings the specialist design skills of the industry’s most talented teams into the spotlight. In 2013, a revised list of eighteen categories and subcategories has been devised in consultation with owners, builders and designers, to best reflect the talents we aim to recognize.
New this year, the organizers are delighted to announce the Holistic Design Award, which will be presented jointly to the designers of the exterior and interior of the yacht (motor or sail) considered by the judges to be the finest example of a harmonious combination of interior and exterior design. The design should match the requirements laid down by the owner of the yacht and the judges will consider the synergies between the interior and exterior visual appeal, functionality, practicality at sea and innovative features.
Call for Nominations
Yacht designers, builders, owners and yachting enthusiasts are encouraged to submit their nominations before the closing date of February 15, 2013. Any person may nominate any yacht, with the limitation that this person must be able to provide the requested information to support their nomination.
To qualify, all yachts must be of over 30m and have been completed and delivered to their owners between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012.
