Boat International Media is pleased to announce that the next year’s ShowBoats Design Awards will be held at the magical Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Austria, on Monday, February 24, following the first day of the Superyacht Design Symposium.
Now in its fifth edition, the ShowBoats Design Awards brings the specialist design skills of the superyacht industry’s most talented teams into the spotlight. Honouring the craftsmen and innovators responsible for the most exceptional new superyacht designs on the water, the coveted golden Neptune awards have quickly become a symbol of pride and distinction for yacht design professionals.
About Swarovski Crystal Worlds
From the outset, founder Daniel Swarovski had a clear vision; to regard crystal not merely as a material, but as an inspiration. Over a hundred years in the family firm’s history of tradition and success have passed since the company was founded in 1895, and the fascination commanded by crystal is greater than ever. To respond to this large interest, Swarovski has created places in which crystal becomes a complete experience. Swarovski Crystal Worlds hosts a rich collection of precious items housed in 14 Chambers of Wonder; a world of fantasy inspired and designed by some of the world’s greatest artists.
With the addition of the ShowBoats Design Awards to the two day Symposium agenda of interactive debates and discussions about design-based topics, elegant networking events and a ski programme, the 2014 edition is set to welcome more delegates and expert panellists than ever before.
How to make your Nominations
Nominations for the 2014 ShowBoats Design Awards are now open. To qualify, all yachts must be of over 30m LOA and delivered to their owners between 1 January and 31 October, 2013.
Nominations close on Wednesday 6 November, 2013. Any person is able to nominate a qualifying yacht, company or person for any of the awards with the limitation that the person making that nomination must be in a position to deliver the required documentation by the closing date above. The rules and entry requirements are detailed here.
Following the close of entries, Boat International Media’s senior editors will meet to screen the nominees, trimming the list to a smaller number of outstanding finalists. These finalist designs will be put forward for a second round of judging by a wholly independent panel of yacht owners, acclaimed naval architects, designers and stylists from within as well as outside the marine industry to decide the winners of the golden Neptune trophies.
