Monte Carlo Yachts (MCY) is pleased to announce that Simpson Marine has become its exclusive dealer in Southeast Asia in a multi-year agreement, offering customers in the region professional sales as well as service support for its range of superb and original Italian designed motor yachts.
The agreement, which covers the whole of Southeast Asia, is a major step forward for MCY in growing its presence in the Asian market. Simpson Marine will provide a full range of sales and service support for this exciting new range, from its existing offices in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The MCY range is an important addition to Simpson Marine’s portfolio of luxury motor yachts, at a time when demand for luxury motor yachts is increasing in Asia. Built at a state of the art facility in Monfalcone, Italy, the MCY collection was created by famous Italian design house Nuvolari Lenard and balances the latest technology with refined, contemporary elegance.
Since their first appearance in the Asian market two years ago, the yachts of the MCY range have already made a strong impact across the region. The largest yacht in the range, the superyacht MCY86, enjoyed its official Asian launch in Hong Kong earlier this year and the model’s spacious interior, original design and unprecedented levels of customisation attracted much attention and positive feedback from those attending.
The unique design and exceptional onboard luxury of these motor yachts are expected to make them popular with customers throughout Asia. The customisable design can be adapted for long-range cruising, business entertainment or family outings.
“For some time, Monte Carlo Yachts has been studying the Asian market and we are excited by the opportunities we see,” said Carla Demaria, President, Monte Carlo Yachts. “We believe the timing is now right to take this step and are delighted to be working with Simpson Marine as our strategic partner to develop the market across Southeast Asia. Simpson Marine has the experience, coverage and market insights necessary to bring the Monte Carlo Yachts range to customers across the region.”
Mike Simpson, Group Managing Director of Simpson Marine, said: “The Monte Carlo Yachts range is an important addition to our portfolio of luxury motor yachts in Southeast Asia.
“This relatively new range of luxury motor yachts benefits from the unmatched industrial and financial s trength of Beneteau Group, the innovative engineering and revolutionary manufacturing processes developed in the Monfalcone shipyard in Italy and the award-winning design features of Italian luxury yacht designers Nuvolari Lenard. This is a winning combination and I am confident that yacht buyers in Southeast Asia will be attracted by the stylish appearance and high qualit y of these Monte Carlo Yachts.”
The MCY collection currently comprises four luxury yachts: the MCY65, the MCY70, the luxury yacht MCY76 and the flagship MCY86, with new models already underway. Each of these yachts boasts a spacious flybridge for relaxation at sea, as well as an elegant interior and impressive performance on the water. The yachts in the MCY range are built for entertaining and cruising but owners are also able to plan and develop design features to create a truly personal yacht that uniquely suits their planned usage.
The current flagship luxury yacht MCY86 boasts innovative features for a yacht of its size, including a Portuguese deck that offers a private but open living space, typically found only on superyachts. In addition, the yacht includes side balconies that can be opened to create exclusive terraces on the sea, providing guests with an uninterrupted view towards the horizon. Reflecting its luxurious heritage, the MCY86 also features interiors with fabrics and materials by designers including Hermès, Armani, P oltrona Frau and Pierre Frey.
The next model in the collection, the MCY76 yacht, is a 23 metre flybridge yacht whose stylistic features and technology create a new benchmark for luxury. Owners can take to the sea in style and safety, thanks to a self-supporting keel structure that makes extensive use of Kevlar, creating a solid but light shell. An auto-trim system helps to reduce fuel consumption, while a POD propulsion system with a multidirectional joystick, makes the yacht easy to manoeuvre.
The MCY70 yacht continues the range’s focus on clean lines and distinctive design, with an instantly recognisable interior and the use of natural elements that have avoided artificial treatments, such as distressed teak flooring and oak and grey sycamore furnishings.
The smallest yacht in the range, the MCY65 yacht, also delivers the timeless and very recognisable MCY brand style, with classic elements reinterpreted in a modern way. The yacht matches elegance with functionality, providing owners with a stunningly designed boat whose materials and finishings enhance its generously sized living spaces.
The MCY collection has been recognized with an unprecedented series of industry awards. Most recently, the MCY65 won the title of ‘Best Motor Yacht’ in the 40-75 feet category at the Asian Marine & Boating Awards in Shanghai, as well as ‘Flybridge over 55 ft’ at the Motor Boat of the Year Awards in London last year. Meanwhile, the MCY70 won the ‘Best Imported Motoryacht 70-80 ft’ award at the Editors Choice Awards in Fort Lauderdale in 2012 and the ‘Best Design Trophy’ at the World Yachts Trophies in Cannes the same year.
Luxury yacht MCY76 has also won a host of awards, including ‘Best Production Motor Yacht (51-80 ft)’ at the Asia Boating Awards in Hong Kong in 2011, the ‘Yachts over 50 ft’ award at the European Powerboat of the Year Awards in Dusseldorf the same year and the ‘Yachts over 50 ft’ category at the Motor Boat of the Year Awards in London. In addition, it has been honoured with trophies at Milan’s Nautical Design Awards, Genoa’s Boat of the Year Award, and for its design and innov ation at the World Yachts Trophies in Cannes.
The MCY range is supported by the Monte Carlo collection (40-60 ft), in which Nuvolari Lenard designers have successfully introduced the same design elements t o the MC4, the MC5 and the soon-to-be-launched MC6.
The MC5, the MCY65 and the MCY76 yachts will be making their official debut in Southeast Asia at the Singapore Yacht Show in April.
