The Singapore Boating Industry Association (SingaporeBoating) and the Superyacht Singapore Association (SuperyachtSingapore) are to explore the possible merger of the two Associations. They will form a joint committee, in order to investigate how best to transition to a single association.
YP Loke, who is chairman of SingaporeBoating and vice-chairman of SuperyachtSingapore, said, “The market is best served by one association. This will avoid duplication of effort, leading to better efficiency and productivity”. Arthur Tay, chairman SSA is fully supportive of the merger.
SuperyachtSingapore was formed in 2009. It started the Asia Superyacht Conference (now the Asia-Pacific Yachting Conference), and is a strong supporter of the Singapore Yacht Show.
SingaporeBoating is the ICOMIA member for Singapore, and hosted the ICOMIA World Marina Conference in 2011. It has represented the industry to government and public agencies.
