The Singapore Boating Industry Association (SingaporeBoating) is delighted to announce that Trevor Fong has been awarded the first Certified Marina Professional (CMP) designation in Asia by the Global Marina Institute (GMI). Trevor is Head of Marina Management at Keppel Land Hospitality Management and General Manager of the award-winning Marina at Keppel Bay, a lovely Singapore yacht charter destination, positioned in Southeast Asia.
Singapore’s marina development has been an Asian showcase with many regional developers and operators searching for a conceptual model that works in the Asian context. The result in a concentration of marina expertise based in Singapore. It has the most Certified Marina Managers (CMMs) in Asia and now a CMP has been added to the fold.
Singapore’s status as a knowledge hub for the boating industry is evidenced by the number of marina and boating conferences hosted here over the years. This has included the ICOMIA World Marina Conference, and the Asia Pacific Yachting Conference series, the seventh edition of which will run in 2015. Two new platforms now in the planning stages will consolidate this position. They are the Asia Boating Forum, and Asia Pacific Waterfront and Marinas Conference. Both are organised by Singapore Yacht Events, organiser of the Singapore Yacht Show, in collaboration with SingaporeBoating and will run in 2015. Details of these events will be unveiled as they become available. Developing Singapore as a knowledge hub for boating businesses rides on the country’s reputation for educational excellence and augments its position as a global education hub in Asia.
SingaporeBoating congratulates Trevor on attaining the CMP qualification.
