The sleek 100-foot super maxi COMANCHE has recently reached Australia to once again participate in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. She has arrived in Sydney under the expert shipping and handling of Peters & May UK. Aurora Global Logistics, one of Australia’s leading international yacht transport companies, then took over to ensure a smooth discharge and delivery.
Aurora Global Logistics was responsible for handling of Customs and Quarantine formalities, discharging of the vessel directly to water, 45-metre mast and purpose-built shipping cradle to barge, as well as 3 x 40-foot containers of sails and equipment by road.
“As a 100 percent Australian-owned and operated marine logistics provider, we are extremely proud to be associated with such an iconic sailing yacht and would like to wish the team the very best of luck in their second attempt at winning line honours in the Rolex Sydney to Hobart,” says Kane Bygrave, co-director of Aurora Global Logistics.
Line honours in the Rolex Sydney Hobart is high on the list of coveted crowns for this high-tech racing yacht, following a US and European season marked by success and a record. COMANCHE claimed line honours in the Transatlantic Race from Newport to the Lizard, where she set a new 24-hour sailing record for a monohull, 618.01 nautical miles, an average of more than 25 knots.
