Solaris Yachts will be present at the inaugural London Yacht, Jet and Prestige Car Show, running from April 8 to 10, 2015. The Italian shipyard has constructed the lovely sailing yacht Solaris 72’ DH (deck house), beautifully designed by Doug Peterson. Luxury yacht Solaris 72’ DH is a modern vessel, with traditional characteristics. She allows two people to navigate all seas in any weather conditions, with safety as well as comfort.
With the Solaris 72 yacht, clients will experience the very best of the Solaris design ethic, a distillation of 40 years of experience in the crafting of semi-custom 72’ bluewater yachts.
The utterly solid construction techniques and materials used by Solaris are fully in evidence in the 72’ DH yacht. The resistance to dynamic stress and torsion, characteristic of our boats, gives it stiffness and stability. The tried-and-tested hull shape gives an easy motion, particularly in heavy winds and seas. But whilst the hull exhibits traditional waterline styles, the response in light winds is exceptional. This soft motion, along with easy trimming and good tracking, are the characteristics of her sailing qualities; she is forgiving to the uninitiated, whilst still offering the expert enough speed and responsiveness to make the journey an exciting one.
Aft helm stations leave the leisure cockpit uncluttered. The helmsman has easy control of the boat, with all control lines leading aft to the cockpit. The wide passenger area allows for comfort and shelter, as well as a good view of the action and easy access to the panoramic views of the deckhouse, should conditions so dictate.
With a hydraulic swim platform and sail storage fore and aft, life on board can be both practical and leisurely. Designed for the long haul, round-the-world sailor, this yacht gives maximum comfort with no compromise on seaworthiness. Equally at home amongst the islands of the Aegean, or the icebergs of Greenland, this is truly a boat for adventure.
There is also flexibility in the possibilities for layout, as clients would expect with a yacht of this sophistication. Standard joinery is in oak, but other options are also available – and whilst the standard fixtures and fittings are of the highest quality, the design and build process allows for great flexibility.
