Following the delivery of the second SW105 KIBOKO TRES, the South African shipyard Southern Wind has announced the launch and the christening of the new SW105#03 sailing yacht THE POWER OF 2, belonging to the SWS fleet of high-performance bluewater cruisers sailing around the world.
THE POWER OF 2 of the successful SW105 mini-series features a new ‘deck saloon’ layout and was designed by Farr Yacht Design for naval architecture and Nauta Design for interior and exterior design; a team that was also recognised for its excellence at the 2019 Boat International Design and Innovation Awards with SW92#02 sailing yacht SEATIUS winning the golden Neptune for Best Sailing Yacht Interiors.
Built for an experienced sailor, THE POWER OF 2 was envisioned for long-range cruising and easy sailing in most sea conditions. Thanks to her twin rudder system and the lifting keel (3-5m) she can access shallower waters and anchorages, while with the keel down this configurations offers exceptional upwind light air performance. Anchoring is made easy thanks to her fixed bowsprit with an integrated anchor arm. “Power of 2” has a clean deck layout with well-engineered hardware with practicality in mind.
The interior layout features socialising areas for eight to ten guests, while the accommodation spreads across four cabins, including a spacious owner’s cabin with the forward layout and three comfortable ensuite guest cabins amidship. The crew is located aft, together with the galley and crew quarters. This layout was designed to offer maximum privacy for the guests, but also for the crew.
THE POWER OF 2 is getting ready for her extensive sea trials before she will be delivered to her owner in March 2019.
