SP-High Modulus, the marine business of Gurit, will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (QLD Australia) from 20th – 23rd May 2010. This will be the first time the newly created brand exhibits within the Australian market, following Gurit’s acquisition of the Auckland-headquartered company High Modulus in December 2009.
Exhibiting at the show in Pavilion A, Stand 151-152, SP-High Modulus – which supplies the superyacht market, high-performance custom, production and workboat sectors – will introduce its comprehensive range of marine composite products. This now includes the B3 SmartPac solution, which comprises optimised structural design with pre-cut reinforcements and core materials, designed to reduce complexity and cost in production boatbuilding. The SP-High Modulus team will also be demonstrating its engineering expertise.
Other products to be showcased are the new marine Corecell™ M-Foam, which has been developed to deliver one product for all marine applications. It provides a combination of high shear strength, low weight and high elongation, low resin uptake for infusion processes and high-temperature stability for prepreg processes in one cost-effective offering. The high-performance marine adhesive Spabond 540 will also be promoted as an ideal product for bonding large polyester and epoxy GRP structures. With its extended working times, exceptional toughness and high strength, it has been designed to bond stringers/bulkheads, frames and hull-to-deck joints on medium to large production boats.
Graham Harvey, General Manager Marine at SP-High Modulus, says: “The new marine team now benefits from even wider engineering expertise and we look forward to demonstrating these along with the benefits of our complete marine solutions to visitors at the show. As a supplier of choice to the world’s leading boatbuilders, Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is a great platform to showcase the many and varied applications of our products.”
