St Kitts homeport, The Marina at Christophe Harbour, will be present at the upcoming 2014 Monaco Yachts Show with a new sensory lounge, bringing its brand of Caribbean barefoot luxury to the event.
The Marina at Christophe Harbour will this year bring its own brand of Caribbean luxury, and relaxed, soul-soothing ethos to the bustle of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). The St Kitts marina, the first stage of which will be completed come the end of the year, has already hosted yachts eager to try the developing destination for themselves. With its sponsorship of the Darse Sud press lounge, The Marina at Christophe Harbour experience will be available at MYS this year, without making the crossing.
The development spearheaded by experienced superyacht owner and developer, Buddy Darby, has been created with a firm knowledge of the elements which make a destination work logistically, as well as on a sensory level. That sensory element of The Marina at Christophe Harbour – the feeling of safe haven formed by a crystalline, sheltered marina, the inviting tranquil bays, and verdant hillsides waiting to be explored – will be recreated in a digital experiential lounge in the Darse Sud press tent.
The Marina at Christophe Harbour is set to be a game-changer; berth purchases are freehold, not leasehold, and come with the opportunity to gain citizenship in a nation with no personal tax or residency requirement for citizenship. $90 million will be invested over the course of the marina build-out and the first phase, which will be completed at the close of 2014, will include 24 slips from 150 to 220 feet.
Berths stretch up to 65-metres, with a draft of 5.6-meters, and the marina features a professionally engineered entry and turning basin. The marina is a designated point of entry and expedited customs clearance ensures guests clear into the country quickly, while the yachts themselves benefit from the yacht-friendly legislation the Federation has implemented. The Marina at Christophe Harbour offers significantly reduced bunkering costs due to no import duties on the import or sale of fuel, is 15-minutes from an FBO airport and will feature 300 berths, up to 91-metres LOA, once the development’s complete.
The location itself was ripe to be developed. St. Kitts completes the triangle of cruising destinations between Antigua and St. Maarten, and is well positioned to start or end a luxury yacht charter.
