Organizers for the 2014 St. Maarten Heineken Regatta have been feverishly working to create the perfect formula for what will be a Legendary Party. The 34th Edition of the Caribbean‘s biggest Regatta will boast 4 nights of Regatta parties. Set to kick off on Thursday March 6 with the Dance Fever Party, Friday March 7th Rock and Reggae, Saturday March 7th Caribbean Jam and the event will conclude in a Legendary Party on Sunday March 9.
Yes, once the racing is over and the sailors have tucked their boats away for the day, the final night of Serious Fun will commence on Kim Sha beach. This Sunday night affair, which organizers have billed as a ‘Legendary Party’ night, will include everything needed for the perfect party. Start with the right venue, a beautiful beach, sand between your toes and stars above, and mix in a variety of vendors, food and ice cold Heineken beer and you have just the right formula. But the pièce de résistance will most certainly be the night’s entertainment. Introduce Redfoo and the Party Rock Crew (LMFAO) and you have the winning combination to what will most certainly be talked about as the year’s most Legendary Party.
For those of you who have not heard of Redfoo and the Party Rock Crew, you do not need to look, or should we say listen, very far to hear one of their many hits. Tune into your local radio stations that play the latest chart topping hits and you’re bound to hear them blasting through your speakers. Their hit song “Party Rock Anthem” topped the iTunes charts in seven countries and kept artists like Chris Brown and Jennifer Lopez from reaching the number one slot in the UK. The fact that their pulsating music video passed twenty million views on Vevo in less than two months is a proof to their incredible talent. Their You Tube video “Sorry for Party Rocking” which was posted in February of 2012 has received over 189 million views to date, leaving the organizers to believe that this energetic duo will bring something to the island and the stage that has never been seen or felt before.
Stefan Kendal Gordy, known by his stage name Redfoo, is an American singer, dancer, DJ and rapper who is better known as part of the group LMFAO. Redfoo, who is the youngest son of Motown Record Company founder Berry Gordy Jr., considers himself a “music designer’ and brings that same attitude to the stage when performing, leaving the audience with a energetic and satisfied afterglow.
This kind of energy is exactly what regatta party organizer and title sponsor, Heineken was looking for when booking their artist for the 34th St.Maarten Heineken Regatta. Commercial Director, John Leone mentioned “When organizing an event this large and this well known, we are forced to continually stay on our toes and we always aim to bring artists to the island that will please the variety of audiences that we have here. This island is a melting pot of people, and we are always striving to find musical talent that can please everyone of the +100 nationalities we have here. Redfoo and the Party Rock Crew can do just that! Their international fame, combined with our international audience will allow us to have what we are billing as a Legendary Party and we are extremely exited to bring this world renowned talent to the shores of this island. There will be many more surprises that evening, in what will truly be a Legendary Party night. ”
Red Foo and The Party Rock Crew will arrive to St.Maarten after spending time on their world tour which includes stops in Paris, Australia, Turkey, China, Japan, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. They can now add St.Maarten as one of the international venues where they will perform.
The St.Maarten Heineken Regatta has been turning out incredible entertainment for decades. Past performers have been The Commodores, Wyclef Jean, Damian Marley as well as Shaggy, and Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano. Red Foo and The Party Rock Crew can now be added to the prestigious list of performers gracing the main stage on the St Maarten Heineken Regatta Sunday, taking place this year on March 9th 2014.
