Kes, more commonly referred to as Kes the band or KTB, first performed at the St Maarten Heineken Regatta back in 2009 and since then have been making waves in the music industry with performances throughout the Caribbean, USA, Canada and Europe. Additionally, Kes has been hitting the world’s main stage and opened for acts like Rihanna, Sean Paul, John Legend, Maroon 5 and Evanescence.
More recently Kes performed just last week at the annual “Shaggy & Friends” benefit concert for the Bustamante Childrens Hospital in Jamaica. Kes had the honour of performing along with other talented artists like Shaggy, Ne-Yo, Sean Paul and Tessann Chin, several of whom are also past St. Maarten Heineken Regatta performers.
Their music style which has been described as Island pop or Caribbean pop consists largely of Soca with influences from both Calypso and Reggae. Throw in some essentials from other music genres like Rock and Dance Hall and what remains is a diverse blend of true music brilliance. The band is comprised of three brothers, Kees, Hans and Jon Dieffenthaller and friend Riad Boochoon and is known for their vigorous performances and regatta fans are sure to enjoy a heart pumping, body stirring show on Saturday March 8th.
Guaranteed to keep you jamming to the Soca rhythms, their performance will be sure to include songs from their latest album “Soca 2014” while reminiscing with some of their more classic hits like “Wotless”, “Stay With Me” and “Can’t Wait.”
Heineken’s local brand manager Nila Hoogenboezem stated “The St. Maarten Heineken Regatta crew is excited to bring this high energy act to the island and look forward to waving their rags alongside a blended audience of sailors, island visitors, residents and volunteers. This performance will certainly entertain the crowd and get everyone’s energy level back up after a long day of sailing.”
