Hatteras Yachts has proudly announced robust sales from the recently concluded Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). President and CEO, John Ward, credits new yacht models and the improving economy for the strong sales. Customers had an opportunity to admire the new Hatteras Express series during the event, as well as the all-new convertible motor yacht GT70, topping out at 40+ knots wide open throttle, and the newly redesigned 60 Motor Yacht.
“We continue to see a growing interest and confidence in the Hatteras brand as can be seen by the show results,” said Ward. “We are attracting both existing and new customers to Hatteras, which signals we are building the right yachts for the marketplace. There were lines of folks waiting to see the Hatteras Express, and its many new features. We have designed the boats with large cockpits, a single pane front windshield and fresh, new interiors,” said Ward. “Happily, several were sold at the show”, he added.
Hatteras Yachts launched the Express Series this summer. The versatile Express Series can be modified to suit the particular needs of the individual customers: whether fishing, or cruising, or both. Single and two stateroom versions are available.
Karl Kemppainen, Hatteras Yachts Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said that customer comments played a large part in the design of the new luxury yacht GT70, Hatteras’ largest GT convertible. “To create an impact with this new model we took a great deal of feedback from our existing GT customers to perfect the interior and exterior styling as well as to enhance the yacht’s performance.” The five stateroom, four head layout has traditional Hatteras GT styling including an impressive mezzanine style cockpit. The interior features classic high gloss teak cabinetry with contemporary finishes, rounded doorways into each stateroom, wider companionways and versatile storage. The redesigned 60 Motor Yacht was a popular attraction at the show.
“We upgraded over 50 items on the existing 60 Motor Yacht to provide the consumer with what they are truly looking for. New features include an additional 200 gallon fuel capacity, a redesigned flybridge helm area, and an extended bridge deck which created additional seating,” stated Ward. “We see widespread growth in the marine industry. Hatteras will continue to pave the way with the best boats in the marketplace. We are proud of our quality of design and craftsmanship and the innovative ideas that bring us new customers and keep our existing clients coming back to us,” added Ward.
