Baltic Yachts have proudly announced the successful delivery of the dramatically beautiful Baltic 115 superyacht NIKATA. Following her sea trials in Finland this autumn, the silver-hulled NIKATA has recently reached the Caribbean, after a 3,000 nautical mile transatlantic passage during which this all-carbon, custom-built high performance cruiser/racer reached a thrilling 28-knot speed.
Working with naval architects judel/vrolijk & co, project managers MCM of Newport in the USA and Nauta Design, responsible for on-deck and interior design as well as styling, Baltic Yachts delivered NIKATA on time and on budget. Expected to participate in the RORC Caribbean 600 Race in February 2016, she has been designed as a fast, comfortable family cruising yacht, however, she is also light and stiff enough to perform well on the race course.
Well equipped for inshore racing as well as offshore events, NIKATA also has the ability to switch from a cruising style ‘pin-head’ mainsail to a powerful ‘square top’ for more competitive sailing. A key feature on deck is the ingenious fold-out stern platform, designed by Nauta Design, engineered and built by Baltic, providing a swimming and boarding area plus a wide set of steps enabling guests to reach the main deck and large cockpit with ease. In the stowed position the teak laid platform becomes the aft deck.
Luxury yacht NIKATA is also an amazingly quiet and comfortable vessel, thanks to much research and development that have been invested in sound deadening with vibration reduced at source by re-designing machinery mounts and refining the flexible shock absorbers upon which all the accommodation modules are mounted.
