The crew of Nordhavn 86 #10 yacht Koonoona left China on schedule and reached Hong Kong yesterday, on May 1, 2014. Luxury motor yacht Koonoona enjoyed an uneventful ride during the 300-nm first leg of her delivery, setting up for a 12-day layover, where she will be prepared for her new owner’s arrival.
First order of business is to provision the boat. Koonoona yacht’s chef will stock the boat with enough fresh food and supplies to feed the owner and the additional crew who will join the boat during the remainder of the trip. Koonoona will also undergo a transformation as the arrival of designer Destry Darr’s bedding, pillows, throws and other soft goods arrive to make the boat extra inviting for the owners who will spend the first few days on Koonoona fishing the exotic sealife in Kuala Terrengganu.
Other housekeeping items being taken care of during her stay in Hong Kong include fueling up (via the same barge that fueled N120 superyacht Aurora on her delivery trip) as well undergoing seatrails for the FarSounder System, a forward-looking Sonar.
Before her May 12th departure, superyacht Koonoona will welcome three new crew members, Videographer Doug Harlow, PAE’s Taiwan-based engineer David Jen, and the N86 Project Manager Trever Smith, currently in Amsterdam attending the World Superyacht Awards in which luxury yacht Aurora is up for Design of the Year.
After completing the estimated 1,250-nm second leg, N86 luxury yacht Koonoona will be met by the new owners and new crew members PAE president Dan Streech and salesman Eric Leishman.
