Porto Montenegro has announced that 2019 was its best year yet for luxury yachts visiting its marina, both in terms of monthly and annual berth occupation as well as the number of visiting superyachts to its port.
In 2019 there was a 13.5% increase in occupancy during the year, a 14% increase in berths occupied by vessels over 40m/98ft, and a 61% longer average length of stay.
Over 2,000 unique yacht entries have been recorded and more than 8,000 entries over the 12-month period. The marina has also hosted numerous prestigious events, particularly around the busy summer yacht charter season: The first RC44 circuit regatta, the Giga Yachts Captains’ Forum and the Polo in the Port tournament.
Several mega yachts were amongst the notable visitors to the port, including 180m/590ft M/Y AZZAM, 164m/538ft ECLIPSE, 143m/469ft sailing yacht A and 141m/462ft M/Y YAS.
Construction has also grown the village, resulting in the new Baia wing of the Regent Porto Montenegro and the Elena Residences, securing Porto Montenegro as a marina of choice for superyachts as they move between the Western and Eastern Mediterranean luxury yacht charter grounds.
