Last night, Friday, May 24, saw around 600 exhibitors as well as their guests, celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS) at the InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort.
Hailed an outstanding success, exhibitors are keen for this to become an annual event as part of the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show.
Themed ‘Boardies and Bow Ties’, exhibitors arrived in a vibrant array of boardies and were given a Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show 25th Anniversary bow tie.
Sanctuary Cove Sales, Sponsorship & Events Manager Johan Hasser, presented Awards in recognition of those who have worked for 25 years to help grow SCIBS to what it is today – one of the leading marine showcases in the Asia Pacific.
“Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show is a strong supporter of the marine industry and its growth is due in no small part to the incredible effort and support of a dedicated group of people” he said.
Amongst those recognised for their invaluable contribution to SCIBS over the last 25 years, was Sanctuary Cove’s International, Government and Industry Liaison Manager Barry Jenkins and SCIBS Exhibition Manager, Harry Davis. Also John Coupland from Australian Yacht Winch Co., Jennifer Gould from Classic Hits 4KQ, Jeff Leigh-Smith and Peter Campbell-Burns.
Companies which have exhibited over the 25 years include: Coursemaster, MTU Detroit Diesel, Superior, Polyflex, TMQ, Whitsunday Rent A Yacht, Trade-A-Boat, Zenith Engineering, Riviera and Jetski World.
Carl Amor, Managing Director of Aqualuma LED Lighting, said the function was a great way for the Boat Show Organisers to thank the exhibitors for their continued support.
“Last night will go a long way in the exhibitors’ minds in regards to how the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show recognises their support and gives back to them” he said.
This echoed the sentiments of many who commented they hope it becomes an annual event at SCIBS.
There are 327 companies exhibiting at the Show with a number of national and international launches including Pacific Motor Yacht’s MF 855, Sunseeker Manhattan 53, Princess Yacht’s P56, Grandbanks Aleutian 53, Sealine S450, Hampton Yachts, Endurance 720, Sea Ray’s 540 Sundancer, Grady White 360 Express, Fairline Targa 58, Sessa C38 and Horizon’s E56.
