It has been a very successful Seatec 2014, representing the exhibition of technology, subcontracting and design for boats and mega yachts. The event is annually held at CarraraFiere in Italy, in conjunction with Compotec, the exhibition of composite materials, as well as Yare, the refitting show.
The official numbers show that Seatec held its own and in fact, a clear trend reversal was revealed. When considered in the general context, this confirms Seatec as an important reference on the international trade fair scene.
In all, Seatec, Compotec and Yare recorded the participation of 458 brands (+4% compared to 2013), including 163 foreign over a total area of about 21,000 square metres in three exhibition halls.
The number of visitors totalled 8,346 (+10.5% compared to the previous year), including 8% from abroad, again showing an increase of 3%.
24 technical conferences were organised on various themes, from design to composite materials, marine propulsion and many others.
“We are pleased – says Paris Mazzanti, CEO of CarraraFiere – because among exhibitors and more generally in the industry as a whole, there was a new climate of confidence and trust, which was confirmed in the course of the many meetings we had both on the stands and at the technical conferences and discussions. Obviously, the industry players know that it will take a long time to return to the levels of a few years ago and it will be difficult too, but just seeing a change in the trend is gratifying for everyone. Clearly, the positive signs from Seatec and Compotec will have to turn into effective recovery for the industry”.
Thanks to the cooperation with ICE (Italian Trade Commission), Toscana Promozione, the Tuscan Regional Government, Lucca Promos and Navigo, industry players had the opportunity to meet important foreign delegations joined by independent operators and the captains of large yachts that took part in the activities of YARE
The positive atmosphere was apparent during the many conferences, workshops and technical initiatives that took place, as is the tradition in the course of an event that involves all fields related to the marine industry, composite materials and refitting.
The 2015 event will take place from February 4 to 6.
