In 2009 Sunseeker revealed the concept for their new Super-Size Superyacht, a 46 meter yacht called “Zeus”. The detailed model of the Zeus 150 debuted at the 2010 edition of the London Boat Show and the Sunseeker superyacht is currently under construction, due to launch in 2011. The 46-meter Zeus 150, will represent the start of a new range of yachts for Sunseeker, the Zeus line, which will be followed by the 50-meter Zeus 164 in 2012, with designs for even larger models planned for the future.
“A remarkable up-scaling of the acclaimed 37 Metre Yacht, this latest benchmark craft can be built to top MCA and RINA credentials for class and according to flag requirements, once again brings almost twice the volume of previous accommodation limits. Yet still the Sunseeker spirit of high-speed cruising with smooth and secure sea-keeping remains, thanks to an intricate design testing process.”
The Zeus 150 will reportedly have 2 engine options available to the owner who can choose between two models of the 2x MTU Marine V12 400 engine: the 1,307 hp/rpm or the more powerful 1,341 hp/rpm version. She will have a maximum beam of 8.50m and a full load draught of 2.47-m.
The Owner’s Suite, located on the main deck will be a full-beam suite and feature panoramic views of the sea with owner balconies or “platforms” on either side. The Zeus 150 will also feature a rotating transom door designed to produce a ‘beach Club’ area when fully opened. This area is accessed down the transom steps from the main aft deck. A transverse tender garage will allow tenders to be launched and recovered using the overhead crane on the port side of the yacht.
The Zeus 150 range, although series-built, will be highly individual. The fixed features of the yacht include the base hull construction, engineering platform, systems and structural bulkheads however the owners can have full input into the design of the superstructure styling, number of decks and cabin configurations along with the personal choice of interiors and color schemes.
The new 46-meter superyacht will drive Sunseeker firmly into the mega yacht market when launched and is set to become their flagship yacht model.
