The respected UK luxury yacht manufacturer, Sunseeker Yachts, is delighted to report that the new Marine Technology Centre was officially opened by Wayne Moore, Operations Director of Sunseeker, on January 24. The Centre is based at the Bournemouth and Poole College.

As well as learning more about the Marine Apprenticeships and higher level qualifications, guests had the opportunity to view the students’ work, look around the new centre and watch both the apprentices and lectures in action using the latest state of the art equipment.
Wayne Moore commented, ‘One of the great things about the apprentice programme is how it can now seamlessly lead into further training. As a matter of fact, a number of our ex-apprentices are amongst the 24 Sunseeker International employees currently studying for an Engineering HNC.

The move to Bournemouth and Poole College will ensure that government funding for apprentice training will be re invested for the benefit of the students and the local marine community in Dorset.’
