The 31st of May 2010 saw the launch of the 60 metre Lurssen super yacht KATIE SUE II. Motor Yacht Katie Sue II is a very voluminous yacht and her exterior design is dominated by sleek, curved features, which have been extended throughout the whole yacht. Glade Johnson, who is responsible for the interior design, has created generous and warm areas, in which the design blends elegant classical details with contemporary elements.
The main and upper deck salons of the superyacht Katie Sue II are flushed with natural light. These areas offer guests huge spaces for a formal dining inside or a more casual dining outside, splendid spaces for relaxation, watching TV or playing games.
Lurssen Yacht Katie Sue II’s sun deck provides, in addition to the wind-protected area midships which may function as a gym, an outside dining area and sun deck aft as well as a large sun seating area which wraps around the Spa Pool forward. For the night entertainment on Katie Sue II the sun deck is equipped with a disco sound system and lighting.
Four equally sized spacious guest cabins are located on the lower deck of the superyacht Katie Sue II. The design of the guest cabins is consistent throughout and they have extra large vertical portholes. A fifth guest cabin is placed on the upper deck between the bridge and the upper salon.
Powered by two Caterpillar engines of 1,455 kW each, she will reach a top speed of 15,5 knots with a range of 7.000 nm. Advanced sound and vibration features guarantee an extremely quiet running yacht.
Katie Sue II motor yacht’s exterior was designed by Espen Oeino, a Monaco based superyachts designer. Her interior as mentioned above, was designed by designers at Glade Johnson. The same designers that were in charge of the other two sisterships – the motor yacht Arkley and the motor yacht Linda Lou. Lurssen Motoryacht Katie Sue II has been built to Lloyd’s Register class. The full displacement yacht has a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure, with a gross tonnage of 1182. Superyacht Katie Sue II provides accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 staterooms with a crew of 15 members.
Katie Sue II is due to be delivered to her Owner in July this year.
