Australian shipyard Echo Yachts has commenced construction of their latest creation – the sailing yacht ASC57 – at their facility in the Australian Marine Complex, Western Australia. The 57m adventure sailing catamaran has been created in collaboration with Dutch sailing yacht designer Dykstra Naval Architecture and Australia’s leading aluminium multi-hull experts One2Three Naval Architects.
Dykstra Naval Architecture are responsible for the exterior styling, layout and architecture and have a prestigious list of well-known previous projects including sailing yacht BLACK PEARL.
The project has been inspired by Echo Yachts’ motor yacht CHARLEY 2 and will feature similar luxury accommodation, loads of water toys and helicopter landing capabilities. The aluminium hull form is complemented by a twin-Dynarig sail system by Southern Spars providing a total sail area of 1,660sqm perfect for long-range efficient long-range cruising.
This supercat sailing yacht marks Echo Yachts expansion into the large sailing yacht market, having previously focussed on custom motor yacht construction.
We will update you as construction progresses on this exciting project.
