The Superyacht Australia Division Committee gathered for their annual election of the division committee members in Sydney, last week. Demonstrating a strong vote of confidence the committee re-elected Barry Jenkins as Chairperson as well as Richard Morris as the representative from the Committee to sit on the AIMEX Board.
Superyacht Australia has been a division of the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) since the beginning of 2012 which has resulted in significant inroads being made for this sector, the Superyacht Australia initiatives are driven by the decisions made by the Superyacht Australia Division Committee comprising of regional cluster representatives and key corporate stakeholders.
Having also been a part of the previous organisation Superyacht Base Limited, Chairman of Superyacht Australia Barry Jenkins commended AIMEX for driving the key issues and needs of the superyacht sector resulting in significant traction and global presence.
“Superyacht Australia now has a strong calendar of initiatives throughout the year ensuring that Australia has its place on the global fleets map as a cruising destination and also importantly working towards growth of the visitation of superyachts to Australia to ensure industry prosperity,” said Mr Jenkins.
The regional cluster members of Superyacht Australia each nominate a representative from their regional board to represent them on the national committee. These being Carrie Carter for the Superaycht Group Great Barrier Reef, Byron Rabone for Superaycht Brisbane & Gold Coast, Mike Cippitelli for Marine WA who has replaced Rod Tweddle and Richard Morris for the NSW Superyacht Industry Association.
The Superyacht Australia Division Committee is made up of a dynamic group of key industry stakeholders who assist in driving the future of the Australian superyacht sector, these include:
