Marina Projects are happy to announce that in partnership with PLC Architects they have been awarded the contract for a Masterplan Study of Stanley Waterfront in the Falkland Islands. Marina Projects Ltd were invited to submit a proposal for the provision of Master Planning Consultancy Services for Stanley Waterfront & Public Jetty, Falkland Islands in accordance with the Request for Proposal (RFP) issued by Falkland Islands Development Corporation (FIDC).
Marina Projects‘ wealth of international experience in mixed waterfront design and development with a particular and specialist knowledge of the marine sector brings a further dimension to the master planning process with an informed understanding of the driving forces and influences that led to the successful integration of water and land based activities. This is based upon our depth of experience in the design, development and operation of marinas and berthing for leisure and commercial craft. In addition, Marina Projects’ close links with the marine industry worldwide and ability to engage fully with stakeholders, the superyacht sector and the expanding Antarctic expedition and cruise ship market will help ensure that the Stanley waterfront masterplan is truly optimised and in a position to fully exploit the high value tourism opportunities and potential.
The aim of the Falkland Islands Government is to encourage long term economic growth, in part through the development of tourism including a wider recognition of the Falkland Islands; a naturally beautiful, unique and remote destination that is the unspoilt Gateway to the Antarctic.
