The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) has announced the creation of Superyacht Lifestyle Miami (SLM), an experiential exhibition of some of the world’s finest yachts as well as luxury products.
“NMMA’s goal with Superyacht Lifestyle Miami is to answer direct requests from NMMA members and the global superyacht industry to use our considerable exhibition and marketing capabilities to create this new kind of experience for the UHNWI and HNWI customer,” says NMMA President, Thom Dammrich. “We believe this event is an important step forward for the superyacht industry’s expansion to corresponding luxury sector cross-promotion and a new level of aspiration by the industry.”
Geared toward an elite international clientele, NMMA is working in concert with a superyacht industry focus group of executive leadership as well as organizations like the International Superyacht Society (ISS), the U.S. Superyacht Association (USSA) and Ports of Cause (POC) to build a breakthrough event—one which bridges luxury categories and concierge services to create a memorable experience for an exacting audience. Superyacht Lifestyle Miami will be held from 13-16 February 2014 at the Museum Park’s Deep Water Basin on the shores of the City of Miami.
Superyacht Lifestyle Miami will include yachts over 100’ (30m+), including new builds, brokerage and charter vessels with availability for select supplier exhibits. With 40’-50’ (9.14m-12.19m) deep water draft and clear air draft to and from the Basin, SLM provides ample logistical availability for premier sailing yachts as well as motoryachts.
To showcase complementary luxury products, NMMA has commissioned mega yacht SEAFAIR, the 228’ (69.49m) Luiz De Basto-designed International Fine Art Exposition (IFAE) yacht; SEAFAIR also provides fine dining, an open-air restaurant and bar, and related support to the event.
Entertainment and concierge services are also underway. Superyacht Lifestyle Miami will provide elite access to local attractions while helicopter service and limousine transport will be made available for private aviation needs and ferrying between other aspects of the February Miami shows.
NMMA’s large yacht involvement also includes global regulations, policy practices of international governance from ICOMIA and IMO as well as ISO standards that impacts its members. As the leading advocate and association for the North American recreational boating industry, NMMA is also looking to strengthen its strategic and marketing relationships for the benefit of its export-driven manufacturing members and those who work within, or seek to work within, the superyacht segment.
A working member of the superyacht industry’s Superyacht Associations Alliance (SAA), NMMA has already established its collaborative spirit with the superyacht industry’s international organizations through attendance at SAA’s last three meetings and plans to again host the SAA Breakfast at the Progressive Insurance Miami International Boat Show in February 2014.
