Earlier this month CharterWorld brought you news regarding the Moonen 133 which is the largest super yacht Moonen Shipyards has ever endeavoured to create for a private client. We now know the Moonen 133 superyacht is expected to be christened Sofia III.
The engineering work is already underway on the Moonen 133 at Moonen Shipyards which expected to be christened Sofia III. The owner who has commissioned the Superyacht Moonen 133 yacht has previously owned a Moonen 84 (motor yacht Sofia I) and a Moonen 97 (called motor yacht Sofia II).
The new Moonen 133 superyacht will feature styling by René van der Velden and interior design by Art-Line Interiors.
The Moonen 133 will have some unique differences compared to other superyachts her size. First, she will carry a submarine and will be the smallest yacht to do so. The two-person sub, from U-Boat Worx, will be stowed on the swim platform and launched via hydraulics; the platform will lower into the water, like a ramp. The Submarine will be able to dive up to 100m.
Luxury motoryacht Sofia III will feature a luxury owner’s suite, plus 4 guest’s staterooms below deck for a total of 5 cabins which is more than usual. It will also feature a gymnasium that can be modified into an extra guest cabin if required. The Superyacht Moonen 133 Sofia III will be able accommodate around twelve guests if utilising the gymnasium. The bridge deck will feature an alfresco dining area with open air design which is generally found only in larger yachts and becoming increasingly popular with many different clients.
The new Moonen 133 luxury superyacht plans to make her public debut at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show.
