Rondal’s status as a leading producer of high performance custom superyacht rigs is already well established, but prominent new orders for breath-taking superyacht projects emphasize the growth not only in business, but in recognition of the company’s outstanding technical capabilities.
Powering ‘The Beast’…
The latest order is the complete rig package for a radical 58m sloop from Dubois Naval Architects – described at its Monaco Yacht Show unveiling as “The Beast” due to its unswerving commitment to exceptional performance.
The rig features a 71m/233ft five-spreader carbon fibre mast and performance boom to store a flat head mainsail. In addition, Rondal will supply captive winches, feeders, deck hatches and entrances.
The build is being undertaken by Royal Huisman.
…as well as an illustrious fleet of in-build projects
The Dubois 58m superyacht project is the latest addition to a very high quality fleet of superyacht projects that have chosen Rondal to supply them with high performance spars and rigs. Setting aside ”The Beast” order, they total some 300m in combined rig height:
– 37m/123ft classic Dykstra Sloop at Royal Huisman
– 70m Contemporary Ketch C2227 at Perini Navi: the complete package includes
– 73m/ 240ft main mast, 59m/ 194ft mizzen mast, booms, spreaders, standing and running rigging, and load monitoring system
– 43m/142ft Frers Performance Sloop at Royal Huisman. The rig features a 58m, four-spreader carbon fibre mast and a ‘styled to order’ carbon fibre furling boom.
– 47m/156ft Tripp Design Performance Sloop at Holland Jachtbouw. The rig features a four-spreader ‘Panamax’ carbon fibre mast, a ‘styled to order’ carbon fibre furling boom and composite standing rigging.
The industry increasingly seems to agree that Rondal rigs are a sailing force to be reckoned with – as are the people who make them!
